This project involved the construction of a substantial new lathe pit within an existing operational industrial facility, requiring extensive structural modifications and careful coordination around existing infrastructure and plant operations.

The works included significant demolition and excavation through the existing factory slab, followed by construction of heavily reinforced concrete footings, base slabs and high reinforced concrete pit walls. Complex formwork, reinforcement and staged concrete pours were undertaken to create the purpose-built pit and surrounding structural floor.

Once the main structure was completed, the project incorporated installation and integration of the new lathe equipment, access stairs and platforms, safety barriers and associated floor finishes.

Working within an established industrial environment required detailed planning of excavation, temporary works, lifting operations, access and construction sequencing. The result is a robust, purpose-built facility designed to accommodate specialised heavy industrial equipment while integrating seamlessly into the existing workshop.
