About this policy
Tact Constructions Pty Ltd (“Tact” “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy applies to personal information we collect through our website, our construction sites and offices, and our dealings with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, job applicants and members of the public.
By using our website or providing us with your personal information, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this policy.
What personal information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you deal with us. It may include:
Clients and prospective clients: name, address, phone number, email address, property and site details, project requirements, plans and specifications, quotes, contracts, and payment and billing information.
Subcontractors and suppliers: name, business name, ABN, contact details, trade licences and registrations, insurance certificates, construction induction (White Card) details, safety records, and bank details for payment.
Site visitors and workers: name, contact details, sign-in and sign-out times, induction records, emergency contact details, and incident or injury reports required under work health and safety laws.
Job applicants: resumes, employment history, qualifications, licences, referee details, and any other information you provide in your application.
Website users: information you submit through contact or quote request forms, and technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and time spent on our site (see Section 9, Cookies).
We do not generally collect sensitive information (such as health information or criminal history). Where we do, for example health information relating to a workplace incident, or a police check where required for a role or project, we will only collect it with your consent or where required or authorised by law.

We may also collect information from third parties, such as architects, builders, developers, real estate agents, referees, credit reporting bodies, licensing authorities, and publicly available sources, where it is unreasonable or impractical to collect it from you directly.
You can choose to deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym where lawful and practicable (for example, when making a general enquiry). However, we will generally need your identity and contact details to provide a quote or carry out construction work.

How we store and protect personal information
We store personal information in hard copy and electronic form, including on secure cloud-based systems. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include password protection, access controls, secure office storage and staff training.
When personal information is no longer needed for any lawful purpose, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. Please note that we may be required to retain certain records, such as building, contract, safety and tax records, for extended periods under Australian law.
