Katandra West Hall
The Katandra West Hall project involved the extensive refurbishment of the heritage-listed community hall, restoring an important local landmark while ensuring it could continue to serve the community for years to come.
Works included carefully stripping the building back to its original timber structure, undertaking significant structural repairs and reconstruction, and upgrading the building to meet contemporary standards. The project required a considered approach to retain and reinstate the hall’s original character, including its traditional weatherboard façade, timber detailing, high ceilings and distinctive internal finishes.
Internally, the hall was comprehensively renewed with restored timber flooring, new wall and ceiling linings, upgraded lighting and building services, improved amenities and refreshed functional spaces. The completed refurbishment combines the character and proportions of the original hall with the durability, comfort and functionality expected of a modern community facility.
The result is a revitalised heritage building that preserves the history and identity of Katandra West while providing a high-quality community space for future generations.
